Our Buddies Catering Team awarded ‘Highly Commended’ in the Broadland Community at Heart 2015 Awards!!

The Buddies Catering Team was created to help those who wanted to develop their skills, build confidence and experience a variety of supported learning opportunities within a cater environment. All members are given the opportunity to study Food hygiene Level 1 and may undertake further study should they wish.

Three years ago Buddies Catering commenced their outside catering service for elderly members of the community who live within Circle Sheltered Housing schemes. Currently they support 9 schemes.  Bi-weekly at each scheme the team cook a delicious two course hot lunch using a variety of fresh ingredients.  They prepare the food, cook on site and serve the meal to residents who enjoy eating together in the community room. After clearing away our chef and Buddies members enjoy spending some valuable socialising time with the residents.
