Volunteering

Andrew Frederick Adult Support welcomes people who wish to work as volunteers, including those people with experience in the fields of mental health, learning disabilities and younger adults with dementia. However, we also recognise other people without this experience, but who are enthusiastic and who may have other valuable physical, practical and life skills to pass on can also offer a tremendous input to the members who attend our day centre. We, therefore, welcome all enquiries about volunteering with us.

Volunteers undergo a similar recruitment process to our employed staff including the need to undertake an enhanced DBS check. This is to maintain our strong commitment to helping ensure our members are protected as far as possible from people who are not suitable to work with them.

Our volunteers will have a person on the management team who is designated as their particular ‘mentor’ and to whom they can turn to for day to day guidance and advice.
